Social procurement
In 2025, Icon invested $41 million with social benefit suppliers, surpassing annual targets. Its Social Procurement Strategy targets a 1% spend from 2023–2026, supported by Kinaway, Social Traders and Supply Nation.

Employment & opportunity
Icon creates employment and training opportunities for people facing barriers to work. At GLM1, $8 million was spent with Indigenous businesses, social enterprises and disability enterprises, driving social value into the local community.

Indigenous people & businesses
Icon supports the empowerment and self-determination of Australian Indigenous people through training, employment and business opportunities. Its relationship with Barpa helps build understanding, overcome cultural barriers and create new partnerships.

Ground Lease Model 1
GLM1 redeveloped public housing sites across Brighton, Prahran and Flemington into integrated communities. Icon embedded social procurement throughout delivery and worked with Traditional Owner groups to integrate cultural narrative into the design process.

Social enterprise partnerships
Icon works with the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre, Yarra View Nursery and Assembled Threads. These partnerships create workforce experience, ongoing employment and greater economic independence for people facing barriers to employment.
